World War ll images from a member of the Ballinrobe Diaspora
These rare images will bring back memories of relatives/friends to some members of the Ballinrobe Community
By Averil Staunton
A small selection from a collection of rare images received recently from a member of the Ballinrobe Diaspora living in Australia.
It was decided to include them here as some members of the Ballinrobe Community probably had relatives involved in the War.
These images were found in a Brownie box camera decades after they were taken and somebody decided to develop the film it contained - hence these unknown images. As the donor said
"Isn't it amazing how a film could last so long in a camera without disintegrating? Fantastic photos taken 69 years ago. Some of you will have to go to a museum to see what a Brownie box camera looked like!"
