Cregduff National School, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland

I would dearly love to hear from people who attended Cregduff National School, Ballinrobe between 1954 and 1969.

If you the locals have any photos which could be digitized, they would be marvelous historical resource for all of us. Perhaps an arrangement could be made with the local community Historical Cultural Centre and/or Ballinrobe Library to scan the First Holy  Communion and Confirmation which we could all benefit from.

Also, I would love to see photos of Mrs Agnes Gibbons and her son Johnny Gibbons who were the two teachers at Cregduff N.S. during  most of this time period.

In addition to this, perhaps we could see photos of the priests: Monsignor Timothy Gunnigan, Fr. Egan, Fr. Langan, Fr. O Keefe, Fr. O’ Brien, Fr. Charles Scahill.

Anybody have photos of the the Ritz Cinema, the Town Hall with people dancing therein?

I’d love to see photos of the shops — Walsh’s News Agency — Loughrey’s VG Supermarket, The Post Office and the crank handle telephone…. fly catchers hanging from ceilings in the shops – the half doors on Glebe Street

Birmingham’s, Colgan’s Tommy Jenning’s Sweet Shop O’ Malley’s John and Emmet Feericks Val Cummings’s Mrs Moran’s Cafe Valkenburg Hotel and Railway Hotel
